An early 19th century brass octagonal sundial, the scrolled gnomon centred on a finely engraved compass rose within a chapter ring with Roman numerals, signed 'James Lynch - 26 Capel Street - Dublin', 10¼" (26cm) wide 6¼" (16cm) high. James Lynch & Son, "Mathematical, Optical, Philosophical Instrument Makers to Trinity College and His Majesty's Ordnance" traded from 26 Capel Street between 1808 and 1825.
