Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, a collection of 19th and 20th century buttons and uniform parts. Comprising a collection of buttons, 16 gilt examples each centered with a shamrock enclosed in a crowned garter belt, includes ducal and earls coronets; and three white metal buttons with a crowned shamrock; also a green velvet tunic collar with gilt shamrocks and a black epaulette embroidered with a gilt shamrock border. While there were Lord Lieutenants appointed to each county there was only one Lord Lieutenant of Ireland (or more correctly Lieutenant General and General Governor of Ireland) at any time. Scarce.
