Abraham, George Perry (1844-1923). A group of 50 glass stereoscope slides, late 19th c., mainly of climbers (including a woman) in the mountains of the Lake District and North Wales; together with a few topographical views, most retaining their handwritten labels ‘G.P. Abraham, F.R.P.S. Photo, Keswick’, one dated 'Xmas Day. Kaswick.1899', seven slides with surface damage affecting picture, four slides broken, otherwise generally VG.
George Perry Abraham established a photographic business in Keswick in the late nineteenth century, and was joined by his sons George and Ashley. The trio often climbed together and produced the first photographs of rock climbers in action.
